  • Never let anybody in your home if you don’t know them. Always ask for identification, close your door and ring their office yourself. Ensure your back door is locked when you answer a call to the front door.
  • Install a Digital Door Viewer. On a push of a button, this allows you to see who is outside your door on a live screen and will automatically take 3 photos of the caller.
  • Always keep a torch near to hand in case of a power cut
  • Install a Carbon Monoxide Detector where fossil fuels are being burnt.
  • Install smoke and heat detectors in your property. Make sure you test them every month
  • Ensure your Fire Blanket and Fire Extinguisher are in easy reach.
  • If you have a personal alarm, test it every month. It only takes a moment.
  • Install Security Lighting in your property. This is an immediate deterrent for intruders as it lights up the area.
  • Install an Intruder Alarm. Always make sure you put it on in the evenings, and when you leave your home  even for a short while.  Never give your alarm code to anyone outside your family.
